About Me

I was born in Toronto, Ontario. Music became my life at the age of six. My childhood years were filled with the intense study of piano, theory and singing under the direction of many different teachers in Ontario and Alberta, Canada, and in Florida, U.S.A. My career in music includes composing, performing and teaching music.  My efforts have been recognized with numerous awards along the way.

I received First Class Honours in Music Theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and since then have actively taught music for over 35 years, including a year in South America.  I have performed, directed and arranged a multitude of musical styles including classical, rock and pop for student recitals and for special events.

I started writing music when I was 15 years old and have explored many genres and styles of music in my compositions excelling at pop ballads. My portfolio consists of classical, pop and electronic works. These compositions have frequently been presented in a wide range of live venues.

In the future, I plan to continue my quest to further expand the use of music education by opening a studio with my daughter and business partner, Jacey. Through my composition and performance I strive to stimulate the minds and hearts of students, performers and audiences.

The Studio

I believe music is a powerful tool that helps to promote creativity, joy, emotional balance, personal fulfillment and a healthy life style.

Studying music enhances teamwork skills and discipline.  I feel it's important to explore music in fun and exciting ways so that my students enjoy their piano lessons, experiencing a creative musical journey.  If my students have fun then they will most likely continue learning music.

I agree with my daughter's teaching philosophy that is based on a famous quote by one of the world's most brilliant, Albert Einstein:

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."

"Imagination is the foundation for all the arts and sciences we see today. Imagination is the wonder, the possibilities, and the creativity that I wish to bring out in my students. They are the future, and if they are allowed and encouraged to imagine, the solutions they bring to the table later in life will be invaluable."
